What We Do?

Incorporated in 1984, POSCO America is the representative company overseeing all of the activities by the POSCO family companies within the Americas. In addition to providing global supply chain management, POSCO America also manages invested entities and establishes collaborative networks to execute expansion opportunities. We have CSP facility in Brazil for slab production and POSCO Canada which mines and distributes raw materials such as coal and manganese. Also, our integral lithium project, called Sal de Oro, is located in Salar del Hombre Muerto, between Salta and Catamarca provinces, Argentina. In order to better serve the automotive and appliance industries, POSCO established POSCO Mexico in Altamira and AAPC in McCalla Alabama. POSCO America will continuously strive for coherent leadership and better quality service to our customers.

Planning and Management : Utilizing resources from staff, materials, equipment, and technology. Corporate asset management and support for employees’ work environment and establish management policies and plans. Administers various programs that includes various employment benefits, employee management, salaries, incentives and the others.

Trade Affairs and Policy : Monitors legislative and regulatory activities to determine potential impact on POSCO and oversees government relations activities to advocate policies that support POSCO’s objectives.

Steel Business : Conducts research on steel and related industry companies. Satisfies the customer’s needs by providing total technical solutions, product promotion, material qualification, after-sales service, and quality monitoring to customers.

New Business : Research new business opportunities, including secondary batteries, hydrogen industry, and venture companies, to explore potential growth avenues for POSCO. Monitors emerging industry trends and technological innovations and advocates for policies that support POSCO’s strategic objectives.

POSCO AAPC #1 Plant at Alabama

Operation #1 plant started operation in September 2010.

Capacity the entire capacity is 80,000 t/y for slitting, 1,600 t/y for CTL, 39,000 t/y (86,000,000 LB) warehousing for Electrical steel only.

Process Line the process line are 2 slitting lines and one CTL line. Products that we can process are HR/ CR/ GI/ EG/ GO/NO, Steel Plates, Stainless Steel. Pre-painted Steel, WR, etc.

POSCO AAPC #2 Plant at Indiana

Operation #2 plant started operation in September, 2017.

Capacity The entire capacity is 40,000 t/y

Process Using annealing, pickling/coating and drawing machine, adjust hardness and size of raw material suitable for various final product

Accounting / Finance : Utilizing resources from staff, materials, equipment, and technology. Corporate asset management and support for employees’ work environment and establish management policies and plans. Administers a variety of programs, including recruitment, learning and development, performance management, salaries, incentives, retirement plans, and health and life insurance.

Marketing : Maximizes revenues from sales of the organization’s products and/or services in specific assigned channels by preparing and analyzing sales forecasts and results reports. These include but not limit to : Steel Cold-Rolled, Steel Hot-Rolled, Automobiles & Components, Non-Ferrous Metal, Chemical, and Agro-commodities.

Production Department : responsible for production, quality assurance/control, receiving, shipping, storage, and maintenance. Plus all aspects related to the production, quality assurance/control, receiving, shipping, storage, and maintenance.

Human Resources : Plans and administers a variety of programs, including recruitment, learning and development, performance management, salaries, incentives, retirement plans, and life, health and disability insurance.

What We Do?

Through its global networks, POSCO INTERNATIONAL engages in the trading of a wide range of products from steel, automotive and components, machinery and industrial electronics to non-ferrous metals, food resources, chemicals, commodities and textiles, with both local and international customers, As a global leader, POSCO INTERNATIONAL also plays a central role in resource development and overseas projects.

Steel Cold-Rolled : Operate steel supply chain and supply flat/long steel products to broad range of industries by connecting steelmakers worldwide with North American customers. Our main products are cold-rolled steel, coated steel, and specialty steel that are used in various industries such as automotive, construction, home appliances, mobile phone, and food/beverage. Through outstanding performance we have gained reputation and trust and expanded our business territory.

Steel Hot-Rolled : Conducts international trading on a variety of upstream steel products from/to US, such as Hot-rolled steel in coil, plates, pipes as well as steel raw materials. Specialized in trading and sales, creating a new business through market survey and meeting with customers.

Automobiles & Components : Supplying automotive components to various customers in North America with the function of Sales/Quality Assurance/Program Management/Logistics/Warehousing. ISO 9001 certified organization specialized in export supplies Original Equipment(OE) Components as well as Replacement Equipment(RE) Components while localizing the business.

Non-Ferrous Metal : Export, import and trade of non-ferrous metals such as copper, nickel, aluminum, tin and others. Providing high value added trading services, such as logistics, Base Metals Risk Management and Hedging for LME related industry.

Chemical : Supplies wide-ranging petrochemical products from the up-stream sector such as petroleum products (gasoline, gas oil, fuel oil, etc.) and basic petrochemicals such as naphtha, propylene and aromatics to the down-stream sector including synthetic resin, materials for chemical fiber, and synthetic rubber.

Agro-commodities : Conducts North American grain handling including corn, soybean, wheat, rice and etc. in association with grain major trading companies.
