Representatives of POSCO-MPPC (Mexico Puebla Processing Center), a processing center located in Puebla province in Mexico, recently attended a graduation ceremony at the House of Girl Chalco in Mexico City to donate educational materials. Founded in 1991 by the Sisters of Mary in Busan, the House of Girl Chalco provides education to children of impoverished families.
The school is run without government support, relying only on individual financial donations.
Currently 1,900 middle school and 560 high school students attend the school. In addition to the regular curriculum, the school provides extra-curricular courses on secretarial work and business management, helping the students acquire practical work skills.
In 2009, POSCO-MPCC donated audio-visual equipment to help the students enhance their language and computer skills.
The top graduates are recruited by POSCO-MPPC.
