POSCO-MVWPC Opening Ceremony in Mexico (10/15/2015)

- Annual production capacity of 25,000 tons expanding supplies to global carmakers in North and Central America
Located in Guanajuato, Mexico, POSCO-MVWPC(Mexico Villagran Wire-rod Processing Center, President Kim, Woong-ki) with annual production capacity of 25,000 tons held a opening ceremony on October 13th.
MVWPC can produce 25,000 tons of Cold Heading Quality Wire annually and plans to supply them to global fastener manufacturers based in Mexico.
The ceremony was held at Villagran complex and attended by over 150 interested parties, customers and government officials including Jang, Jae-hyuk, Minister-Counselor at Korean embassy in Mexico, Miguel Marquez Marquez, Governor of Guanajuato, Lee, Young-woo, Head of Wire Rod Marketing Dept., and Nissan Motor Company. Lee, Young-woo, Head of Wire Rod Marketing Dept. said, ``With the combination of latest wire-rod processing facilities for automobiles and POSCO`s high-end technologies, I hope POSCO-MVWPC could play an important role in promoting economic cooperation between the two countries in the future.`` Miguel Marquez Marquez, Governor of Guanajuato also added, ``We expect that POSCO-MVWPC would bring positive benefits to local economies and Mexico`s auto industry and we will do our utmost to provide government-level support in the future.``
To respond to soaring demand for Cold Heading Quality Wire due to increased car productions in North and Central American region, POSCO established MVWPC in Mexico in joint investment with DAEHO P&C, Sannohashi, and POSCO-America in March 2014. As POSCO`s first wire-rod processing center in North and Central America, POSCO-MVWPC plans to be the best wire-rod processing and sales center offering high quality CHQ wires to global carmakers and auto parts companies.
